Hi there! Still here, chugging along.
I've made some good progress since my last post. I've managed to get some particle trails going that follow the player's movement; when the player swings, spins, or speed boosts, you can see a blue trail following the motion. I'm not too sure yet if the current trail I have on is the right color or if it's too intense, but I think some form of this trail will look nice in the end. I also added a system of money to the game, where the player gets paid to defeat enemies (and you can see damage numbers and the "value of the kill" in-game).
And, all of this money can be used in the new shopping system! I created an NPC that acts as a vendor who will be an access point to the shop. Here the player can buy and sell weapons. I really enjoyed digging into the UI and setting up all the different dialogue texts and buttons, and I'm happy with how it turned out. I'll be sure to expand on this as my development process goes on.
